Our Mission
We started DwellWired because the smart home internet was broken. Listicles written by people who never opened the box. Reviews bought by the highest bidder. Specifications copied from manufacturer press releases. There was room — we thought — for something more careful, slower, and a little more beautifully made.
Our goal is simple: to help ordinary people navigate the connected home category without losing money, time, or sanity. Every guide we publish is written to be the one we wish we had read before we started.

Our Editorial Standards
We hold ourselves to four rules we don’t break:
- We research the gear we cover. Every review and recommendation is grounded in real-world testing, hands-on experience, or extensive analysis of trusted sources. When we cannot test something directly, we say so plainly.
- We disclose every relationship. If a manufacturer sent us a product to review, you’ll see it noted. If a guide contains an affiliate link, it will be clearly marked. No hidden interests, no exceptions.
- We update what changes. The smart home space moves fast. Our guides are dated, revisited, and updated when the technology or recommendations shift — not left to gather dust for SEO points.
- We’re honest about the unknown. When we don’t know something, we say so. When we’re making an educated guess, we mark it as a guess. The best writing is humble about its limits.
How We Make Money
DwellWired is reader-supported through display advertising served by Google AdSense. We do not accept paid editorial placements, sponsored content disguised as articles, or payment for product mentions. The ads pay for the writing — that’s the entire business model.
